The Parent Support Group
At AISN, the Parent Support Group (PSG) is made up of volunteers who work in support of the school with the following primary goals:
- Provide services that support the school
- Encourage school spirit and offer activities for the students and the school community at large
- Provide funding through fundraising events that support special school projects that have been identified by a consensus of the PSG.
The PSG operates as a nonprofit and all proceeds are invested in the school. The PSG reviews ideas from the school board, teachers, parents, and students then selects the projects they feel are most valuable to the school. Examples include playground equipment, scholarships for out of country school activities, or bringing international speakers to Mauritania.
The PSG is an integral piece in our school community, helping us welcome new families, and always working to improve communication between the school and home. It is a great way to meet other parents and get involved in your child’s schooling with work that is fun and rewarding. Everyone is welcome – look for announcements from the director or PSG President about the date, time, and location of the next meeting. We need you!
